The NTSB has released significant new information about the tragic Learjet 60 crash in Palm Beach County, Florida, on November 1, 2026. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the families and loved ones of the nine people who lost their lives. During a November 3 briefing, investigators revealed that portions of the aircraft's left elevator were recovered in three separate pieces, between 1.3 and 3.8 miles from the crash site. This confirms that at least part of the aircraft separated before impact. But a critical question remains: Did the elevator separation contribute to the loss of control, or was it the result of extreme forces acting on the airplane during its descent? In this update, Captain Steeeve examines the NTSB's latest findings, explains the role of the elevator in controlling an aircraft, and discusses the significance of the crew's reports of icing, turbulence, and an overspeed condition. The investigation is ongoing, and the NTSB has not determined the probable cause of this accident.
