Descripción
Elephant mothers are highly protective and can physically guide or correct calves when they become too rough, pushy or disobedient. During this interaction, the adult’s tusk was damaged and broke away. Elephant tusks are not horns — they are elongated incisor teeth made largely of dentine, with enamel only at the tip when young. Unlike antlers, tusks do not naturally shed and regrow each year. If a tusk breaks, the lost section is permanent, although the remaining tusk can continue growing from the base if the root is still healthy. Tusks are used for digging, stripping bark, moving objects, defense and social interactions, so losing part of one can be a major change for an elephant. #animals #wildlife #nature #natureholic #Elephant #ElephantFacts elephant, elephant tusk, broken elephant tusk, elephant mother, elephant calf, elephant behavior, elephant discipline, elephant facts, tusk facts, elephant teeth, animal parenting, African elephant, Asian elephant, wildlife behavior, animal behavior, animal anatomy, wildlife facts, nature facts, amazing animals, animal shortsMostrar todo
