Descripción
Horses and zebras may look dramatically different, but biologically they’re surprisingly close relatives. Both belong to the Equidae family and the genus Equus, alongside donkeys. That means a horse encountering a zebra is seeing another equid with a familiar body shape, movement and behaviour — but covered in a coat pattern unlike anything a domestic horse would normally encounter. Horses are highly visual and naturally alert to unfamiliar animals and objects. Their wide field of vision helps them monitor their surroundings, while unfamiliar sights can trigger intense staring, hesitation or investigation. Despite their similarities, zebras were shaped by life in the wild and generally have very different temperaments from domesticated horses. Humans have selectively bred horses for thousands of years, while zebras remain predominantly wild animals. #animals #wildlife #nature #natureholic #Horses #Zebras horse meets zebra, horse sees zebra, horse reaction, zebra and horse, horse facts, zebra facts, Equus, Equidae, horse behavior, zebra behavior, horse vision, animal reactions, animal intelligence, equids, horse and zebra related, wild animals, domestic horses, funny animals, animal facts, wildlife factsMostrar todo
