Description

I bought my first ever luxury yacht which is in need of a full restoration & engine fix. We found the problem with the engine immediately but that is turning out to be the least of our worries. Now i need to get the boat back to the uk so i can begin the restoration but i need to know whether its safe to set sail, so ive got some specialists to check over it before we go. Thank you to https://www.maritimeyachtservices.co.uk/ for guiding me on this restoration. Thanks to https://www.instagram.com/petrolheadgentlemanofficial/ for all the help 👇 FOR MORE CONTENT CHECK OUT MY SECOND CHANNEL 👇 https://www.youtube.com/@matarmstrongmk2 ⬇️ ALL HWBT MERCH ⬇️ https://hwbt.shop/ ⬇️ Follow Me Here Aswell ⬇️ https://facebook.com/matarmstrongbmx https://instagram.com/matarmstrongbmxTout afficher

How old were you when you learned that triple-tapping a comment opens replies, and double-tapping likes it?

I delivered this vessel from La Rochelle to Santander and informed the owner at the time that the boat was not suitable for long passages. During our Bay of Biscay crossing in storm conditions, we experienced engine overheating issues, which I have documented with photos along with complete video footage of the voyage. I would be glad to share my insights and answer any questions from a captain's perspective. Videos will be uploaded to my channel soon. And look at the comments in the first video!

The guy you bought the boat from must be so happy he doesn't have to deal with all that...

Yachtmaster (sail) and ex bluewater sailing catamaran owner here... Fix the engines - oil leaks, fuel and water pumps + oil & filter changes. Replace all fuel filters. Check for diesel bug in the fuel tanks. Polish fuel and/or treat with suitable diesel biocide as appropriate. Check the steering system and all connections from helm to rudder(s). Check the shaft (propshaft) seals. Fix, replace and/or upgrade all bilge pumps. Make sure bilge water alarms are working. Make sure all seacocks turn fully off and on. Address any immediate safety-related wiring issues. Make sure existing life

All the comments saying Matt was ripped off and this will cost too much. He's got content here for months even years, he'll make an absolute killing from this on YouTube and have a great boat at the end! Also great for us every week to follow the build, for a content creater with this many followers it's a win win.

The two happiest days in a boat owner's life are the day they buy the boat and the day they sell it.

2 time boat owner here, this is my opinion: DO NOT leave without fixing the bilge pumps. Most crucial. If you are out to sea and engines go out and you drift, you will want the anchor to prevent crashing into land. So electrical and anchor are essential. The epirb is also a must. Sounds like you can fix that oil leak too. If you can do those things I would say GIVE IT A GO! Make sure you have plenty of crew and if you have a chase boat that's even better. God speed!
