Description
Apple just made the boldest series of announcements in its history, and the entire tech market is reeling. In 2026, the $4 trillion company is replacing CEO Tim Cook after 15 years at the helm, handing the reins to John Ternus, a 51-year-old mechanical engineer who has spent 25 years inside Apple overseeing every iPhone, iPad, Mac transition to Apple Silicon, and the Vision Pro. Cook grew Apple from a $350 billion company into a $4 trillion empire, and now Ternus inherits a company reporting its best March quarter ever — $111 billion in revenue, up 17 percent year over year, with iPhone revenue alone at $57 billion. But the leadership change is only one of four massive moves. At WWDC 2026, Apple unveiled Siri AI, a completely rebuilt assistant powered by a multi-year partnership with Google worth approximately $1 billion per year. Google's Gemini models provide the foundation, but Apple insists the intelligence is entirely its own — multi-turn conversations, on-screen awareness, and multi-step task execution across apps. Meanwhile, the iPhone Ultra, Apple's first folding smartphone, arrives in September with a 7.76-inch inner display, a 5.5-inch outer screen, a titanium hinge, a 2-nanometer A20 chip, and a near-invisible crease achieved through a laser-drilled metal plate — all starting above $2,000. And underneath everything sits a $600 billion commitment to American manufacturing, including a $30 billion Broadcom deal in Colorado, TSMC's Arizona fab, Corning's Kentucky glass facility, and a Houston server plant. Apple has absorbed $3.3 billion in tariff costs rather than raising prices, sourcing more than 20 billion chips from 24 factories across 12 states. The question is whether these four simultaneous bets redefine the next decade of technology or stretch the company too thin.Tout afficher
