Sara turned one last month so we are ramping up her swimming lessons. I’m a proud daddy. She did amazing! Last time we practiced swimming, it was mostly just me, tossing her into uncomfortable situations. This time, she made progress towards doing things on her own. Climbing the stairs and grabbing the diving rings! Our approach to child water safety is exposure therapy. We saw that helping Jay, Sarah’s older brother, getting in the water from a young age really helped him be able to pull himself out of dangerous situations in the pool. Jay is only two and he’s grabbing the wall and pulling himself out, swimming across half the pool himself, and I really think if he fell in the pool with no one around, he could get himself out. Our goal is the same with Sarah. Unfortunately, too many infant and toddler drowning accidents happen every day. And because we live near the beach and a pool, we want our kids to be strong in the water, even if it means uncomfortable training sessions with dad 😂 #pov #Dad #baby #family #swimminglesson @targetMostra tutto
