What happens to America when the Baby Boomers are gone, and millions of suburban homes suddenly change hands? The Baby Boomer generation helped build the modern American suburb. They bought large family homes when prices were low, raised families in sprawling neighborhoods, and accumulated enormous amounts of housing wealth along the way. Now that generation is aging. Over the coming years, millions of Boomers will downsize, move into assisted living, relocate, or die, potentially releasing huge numbers of homes back onto the market. On the surface, that sounds like great news for Millennials and Gen Z struggling to afford housing. But there’s a catch. Private equity firms and corporate landlords are already buying thousands of single-family homes and converting them into rentals. At the same time, many aging suburbs are facing expensive repairs to roads, schools, sewer systems, and other infrastructure built decades ago. And younger generations may not even want the same suburban lifestyle. They’re marrying later, having fewer children, driving less, and often choosing denser communities over car-dependent neighborhoods. If Boomers leave faster than younger families move in, parts of suburban America could face falling property values, shrinking tax bases, deteriorating infrastructure, and even long-term population decline. The Baby Boomer generation didn’t just shape American housing. Its disappearance could reshape it all over again. 00:26 - How Baby Boomers Built the American Suburbs 02:04 - Why Boomers Are Becoming Trapped in Their Homes 03:53 - Will the Boomer Housing Exodus Help Younger Buyers? 04:36 - How Wall Street Is Buying Up the Suburbs 05:45 - The Coming “Silver Tsunami” of Empty Homes 07:19 - Why America’s Aging Suburbs Are Falling Apart 09:06 - Could the U.S. Face Japan-Style Ghost Towns? 11:23 - What Happens When the Boomers Are Gone Narrated by: Josh Risser 🔔 Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE! 🔔 SUGGEST A TOPIC: https://bit.ly/suggest-an-infographics-video 💬 Come chat with me: https://discord.gg/theinfoshow 🔖 MY SOCIAL PAGES TikTok ► https://www.tiktok.com/@theinfographicsshow Facebook ► https://www.facebook.com/TheInfographicsShow 📝 SOURCES: https://pastebin.com/PVHyQdFz All videos are based on publicly available information unless otherwise noted.모두 보기
