How we use YouTube data

Effective October 1, 2026

viralshooter is built on YouTube API Services. This page explains exactly what we take from the API, what we calculate ourselves, and how long we keep it.

1. Where the data comes from

Every view, like, comment and subscriber count comes from the official YouTube API, unchanged. We never scrape YouTube.

2. Our calculations

Numbers marked ◆ — such as views per hour, 24-hour gain or how many regions a video charted in — are simple calculations we make from those API numbers. They are labelled wherever they appear and are not YouTube metrics.

3. How long we keep it

Statistics are kept for up to 30 days. Titles, descriptions and channel names are refreshed or deleted within 30 days, and videos removed from YouTube disappear here too.

4. Your YouTube account

Signing in with Google gives us your name and email only. We never request access to your YouTube channel, and you can revoke access at any time at Google security settings. See also the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
