Description
British man Karl Bushby began his 50,000-kilometre walk around the globe in Chile back in 1998. When he set off, he had two rules: first, no forward transport could be used to advance; second, no going home until he arrived there on foot. In doing so, Bushby became the first known person in modern history to walk across the Bering Strait sea ice — and the first person to swim the Caspian Sea. Before he returns home to Hull, East Yorkshire, Bushby spoke with Global’s Europe Correspondent Redmond Shannon on the English Coast. Chapters: 0:00 - Returning home after 28 years 1:25 - Navigating insurmountable gaps 3:53 - Rules of the long journey 5:30 - Personal cost and connection 8:03 - Relationships on the road 9:14 - Planning for the future 10:57 - Reflections and final lessons For more info, please go to https://globalnews.ca Subscribe to Global News Channel HERE: http://bit.ly/20fcXDc Follow Global News on X HERE: http://bit.ly/1Toz8mt Follow Global News on TikTok HERE: https://www.tiktok.com/@globalnews.ca?lang=en #GlobalNews #UK #Travel #Exclusive
